After leaving another local establishment that were downright rude to us locals and ridiculously uncoordinated, we decided to head to Rubicon Hotel to try and get a feed for 4 people. They were packed when we arrived so we weren’t too hopeful but to our surprise, this place was running like a well oiled machine! Waitresses were kind and helpful even though they were under the pump, Felix who was taking orders was next level professional and friendly, our meals came out so fast and were all top notch! Even the owner Darren was present and on the ground with the staff coordinating everything - a true representation of a versatile establishment that is worth its weight in gold to us locals. Thank you for another amazing night, 5 stars all round!
We were staying nearby and visited this hotel for dinner. We all had seniors meals which are usually quite small in other hotels, but ours were generous and great value. Two of us had the minute steak with veggies - steak was juicy and tender and the vegetables were delicious. Often the veggies can be bland but they were very tasty - wonder how they were cooked! We all enjoyed our meals and wine and the staff were nice. Will have meals here again when in the area.
What a treasure this place is! Just spent the weekend in one of their comfortable 3-bedroom family rooms.
The rooms were spotless and had everything you would need. We also dined at the hotel each evening and everything was spot-on. Great counter meals, friendly staff and just an all around great atmosphere. Bravo!

For the price, it is a good location, clean comfortable beds, nice bistro and bar & well located (close to Marysville). Would suggest staying if you are visiting Yarra. It’s close and not very expensive. |Good clean green spaces within the motel grounds for kids to play and have fun as well.
Had a very stressful couple of weeks and staying at the Rubicon really helped me unwind. Rooms are clean with a nice big TV, good shower and comfy beds and the food is incredible.
Steak was perfect (get the pepper sauce it is amazing) and the next night the ribs and wings were some of the best I've had. Bones came out with no effort at all and the bbq sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy.
This is my favourite place to eat this side of Eildon and will be back again next year! Thank you for looking after us rowdy hippies ❤️
Organised a weekend away for a group of friends and Rubicon Hotel was perfect. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the meals were delicious and really well priced. Warm, country hospitality from the staff and locals as we enjoyed the bar and outdoor dining. The group could not be happier - you made our weekend one to enjoy. Thanks Darren and Shereen and your staff. Our high school group will be back again soon.
Very nice hotel. The surrounding scenery is very beautiful. The hotel covers a very large area. In addition to accommodation, there are bars and restaurants. The only thing you need to get used to is that the hotel's floor is made of wood …
Had cheesy garlic bread and the beef burger. My friend had the beer battered fish. Great food, nice pub. Good service. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a good feed. Katrina
